I actually had an active website and a YouTube channel reviewing home and baby products, but due to hectic mommy duties, it’s been on hold. Now, with this new space, From One Mom to Another, I would really love to revive it and provide fresh content, bringing helpful insights and recommendations back to life.
Some days, I’ll be talking about the emotional side of my motherhood journey—the beautiful, messy, and everything-in-between moments. Because of course, parenting is just one part of me, of who we are. Other days? I might just chat about my favorite shows, books, or hobbies, or little things that bring joy to my day because we’re more than just parents—we’re individuals too. That’s why I’ll also be talking about personal interests and ‘me time’ moments. From my favourite books and shows to self-care habits and little joys that keep me grounded, this space is as much about motherhood as it is about embracing all the things that make us who we are, to celebrate all the other things that make us us.
Silence. Every parent knows that when the house suddenly goes quiet for too long, something is probably going down. Cue the suspenseful music… And sure enough, when I peeked into the room, my heart nearly stopped. There she was—my little artist—completely focused, her tiny hands gripping my red colored lipstick like a paintbrush, smudging bright red streaks all over the wall. And even the bed spread.
For a moment, I didn’t know what to feel. Terrified? Upset? Impressed by her creativity? It was a swirl of emotions all at once. I must have looked completely stunned because she paused, as if reading my face, and in her sweet little 2-year-old, almost 3-year-old, word jumble, she softly said, ‘Sorry, Mommy.’
And just like that, the frustration melted away. How could I be mad when she knew—really knew—that she could have done something wrong? Her tiny voice, the way her eyes searched mine for a reaction, and that little apology made me realize something: kids are always learning. They push boundaries, make messes (oh, so many messes), but they also have the purest hearts.
So instead of scolding her, I scooped her up and hugged her tight. I laughed—because what else can you do? And then, of course, we had a long talk about why lipstick is for lips and walls are for paper (a lesson I’m sure we’ll have to repeat a few more times).
